YOLO: Safety & Well-being App

YOLO promotes safety and well-being of international students studying in New Zealand, by allowing users to connect to their trusted contacts, access practical information and reach out to emergency services when needed.

Free to download and with no in-app purchase required, YOLO offers the following functions:

[1] Notify Location

Set-up and send personalised messages (in any of 50 languages) to up to three contacts requesting assistance.

Your message will include your name, mobile number, message and your location.

[2] Emergency

Two button clicks will connect you to New Zealand’s emergency services ‘111’ (e.g., Police, Fire and Ambulance).

[3] Experience

A growing repository of information and factsheets for access by international students. Categories include well-being, eat, enjoy and need to know (e.g., What to do in a traffic accident?, Dealing with home sickness etc).

[4] Push Notification (Subscription from education institution is required for this function to operate)

Users will receive important and urgent information from their education institutions (e.g., Severe weather warning).
