Equip Your New Apple TV With These Must-Have Games
So you got a new Apple TV? If you're even remotely interested in playing games on it, then here's a list of the very first games you should pick up. There's a lot of variety, but the one common denominator is great gaming experiences on the Apple TV.
For those who like the old school arcade with new twists and great design.
Crossy Road is like the old arcade classic Frogger, where you need to help your character get past whizzing cars, roaring trains, and raging rapids. You will hop your way from the bottom of the screen to the top, past a maze of traffic and nature fraught with danger. The Apple TV version features a multiplayer mode where you can smack and push your opponent into traffic.
Why we love it
Crossy Road has unique graphics, and fun background music. It's truly an endless arcade hopper, and it gets more challenging the more you play. You'll be entertained for hours, especially if you take advantage of the multiplayer mode for family fun.
For those who like Pac-Man, but want a fresh challenge.
Pac-Man 256 takes the classic arcade adventure to a new level. With the cool power-ups, you can outsmart the nasty ghosts and stay ahead of the super-villain, creepily named the Glitch. You will experience the same robotic sound effects and funky music that you remember when you were pumping quarters into the game at the arcade.
Why we love it
For those who enjoyed the classic game of Pac-Man, this revamped version takes you on a fun adventure. The incoming villain, the Glitch, adds a little extra to the fast-paced, where-to move, energetic gameplay.
For those who like the idea of swinging the Siri remote to swing the tennis racket.
Hit Tennis 3 features great action, with gameplay that is true to the sport. The only difference between this game and real tennis is that you're using your finger to play, and you don't have to worry about inclement weather. Hit Tennis 3 provides you with 24 different tournaments to play in.
Why we love it
Hit Tennis 3 uses your finger swipes to translate into swings of the tennis racket. You hit the ball, and it flies just as if you had swung the racket in the direction of your swipe. It's fun tennis action, and there is plenty of play value in this free, but well done title.
For those who like bowling, especially with motion controls to swing your arm to roll the ball.
While learning the League Star Bowling control scheme should be easy, it will take time to master the finer point likes spin control.
Why we love it
One of the best new features of the Apple TV is the heavily upgraded Siri Remote. And League Star Bowling is a great way to test out the motion sensing capabilities of the new system and have fun at the same time.
