Apple Starts Shipping iPhone 4S Preorders

Apple fans in the United States who preordered their iPhone 4S handset on October 7 are now beginning to receive shipping notices for their delivery, suggesting that preordered iPhone 4S handsets will reach customers' homes on October 14 (launch day).
As MacRumors notes, Apple usually coordinates the delivery of new products with UPS et. al, in order to ensure that preordered products don't arrive with customers before launch day. However, there are usually a lucky few who grab the latest gizmo ahead of the crowd - in fact, back when the original iPad became available, I managed to get mine the day before launch.
Apple will be selling iPhone 4S handsets in Apple Retail Stores from October 14 in the United States, UK, France, Germany and Japan. As the company has already sold out of its preorder stock, Apple fans hoping to get an iPhone 4S this Friday are going to have to queue for one.
