Apple’s Podcasts App Updated With A Plethora Of New Features

March 21, 2013
For the first time since November, Apple has just released an update to its Podcasts app. Here’s the complete list of changes in version 1.2 of the app:
• Create custom stations of your favorite podcasts that update automatically with new episodes
• Choose whether your stations begin playing with the newest or oldest unplayed episode • Your stations are stored in iCloud and kept up-to-date on all of your devices • Create an On-The-Go playlist with your own list of episodes
• Playlists synced from iTunes now appear in the Podcasts app • The Now Playing view has been redesigned with easier to use playback controls • Addressed an issue with resuming playback when returning to the app • Additional performance and stability improvements
Overall, it looks like a very good update that adds some quality features. I’m most excited about the iCloud support and the new look of the Now Playing view. Podcasts is a universal app for both the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded now in the App Store for free.
