Triple Town Welcomes New Game Mode, New Spring Theme And More
April 30, 2013
Triple Town, the hit match-three game featuring cute yet vicious bears, has just gone to town with its latest update.
The latest update to Triple Town, which was released in January last year and has since gotten quite a few updates, brings bug fixes and miscellaneous optimizations. No surprise there. But what makes this particular update to the game worthy of note is that it also brings a new game mode.
Well, if you've played Triple Town in its Kindle edition, this game mode may not be new to you. Either way, it's now on iOS and it's available for you to play if you have unlocked the game's Unlimited Turns upgrade, which costs $3.99 via in-app purchase.
The new game mode is called Lakes (Classic). It lets you place lakes to act as placeholders for your town. Note that lakes block the movement of the aforementioned cute yet vicious bears.
In addition to this new mode, challenges and a new spring theme are included in the new Triple Town update.
Triple Town now lets you dare your friends to beat your high score by sending them Game Center challenges. Remember to do this in moderation, though, as nothing is quite as annoying as receiving a ridiculous number of Game Center challenges.
Triple Town now also lets you turn your town into a "joyous, flowery place" by unlocking the new spring theme, which is available via a $0.99 in-app purchase.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, Triple Town is available in the App Store as a free-to-play title.
In her review of the game here on AppAdvice, Lory concluded that Triple Town is "one for the record books. It is one of the best free games to hit the App Store. It is cute, fun, challenging, and easy to get sucked into." So, download or update to the latest version of Triple Town right now.
