The Race Is On: Nike+ Running App Updated With Challenges Feature

July 24, 2013
Nike has just issued an update that adds a new level of gamification to its official Nike+ Running app on iOS. That new level of gamification comes in the form of Nike+ Challenges:
Ready to take on your friends? With Nike+ Challenges, you'll compete with your friends and motivate each other to go farther and faster than ever before. Track your progress, top the leaderboard, and snag a medal. Every run counts.
Whereas the app previously fueled competition only through leaderboards for runs and distances, Nike+ Running now enables you to participate in challenges. You yourself can create a challenge by choosing a distance and inviting your Nike+ friends. Of course, whoever reaches the set distance first wins the challenge and gets to earn bragging rights and a medal to boot. For every challenge, you can easily keep track of who's in the lead and even take part in group chats to motivate others or, you know, engage in some good old trash talking. The new version of Nike+ Running is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5.0 or later. Nike+ Running is listed as a "notable app" in AppAdvice's Best GPS Activity Loggers AppGuide. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
