This Week In Accessories: LifeProof nüüd For The iPhone 5 And More

July 5, 2013
Welcome back to This Week in Accessories. Since we’re celebrating the July 4th holiday in the United States, new products have been few and far between this week. But here are two Bluetooth accessories and an iPhone 5 case that have hit the market this week.

LifeProof nüüd for the iPhone 5

Even after being acquired by rival OtterBox, LifeProof isn’t slowing down. The company has just introduced the nüüd case for the iPhone 5. The main draw of LifeProof’s second waterproof option for the handset is the lack of any screen protection. The company’s special technology forms a waterproof seal between the device and touchscreen. With an IP-68 rating, the case can be submerged in 6.6 feet of water for up to an hour. The nüüd can also withstand a drop of 6.6 feet. An anti-reflective optical glass camera lens allows users to still take clear photos. The case retails for $89.99 and will be available at Best Buy and LifeProof’s site starting Sunday.

Sound Flow from Pyle

While we’ve featured other waterproof Bluetooth speakers in previous editions, Pyle’s new Sound Flow really looks like a nice option for a cost-conscious buyer. Designed for pretty much any situation, the Sound Flow is designed as a lightweight, waterproof, and shock-absorbent speaker. With a preinstalled metal hook, the speaker can be hung or placed on any surface. The rechargeable battery provides up to seven hours of music on a single charge. Pyle also says that enhanced bass production provides of a wide range of clear sound for listeners. Available in black, the Sound Flow can be purchased directly from Pyle for $69.99.

Bluetooth Wireless Smart Keypad from Satechi

The new multifunctional Wireless Smart Keypad from Satechi can work with any Mac, PC, or iOS device. With the ability to toggle between calculator mode and keypad mode, the keypad features a large LCD screen that displays up to 12 digits at a time and an LED indicator that shows when the keypad is paired and battery status. An on/off switch also helps to conserve battery life. You can snag the keypad for $34.99 from Satechi or Amazon.com.
