Incipio Acquires Bluetooth Speaker Maker Braven

August 19, 2013
Popular iOS device accessory maker Incipio is branching out, announcing today that it is acquiring Bluetooth speaker manufacturer Braven.
“The acquisition of BRAVEN will create a more diverse product offering for our customers and will allow us to pioneer groundbreaking solutions to support the increasingly connected mobile world,” said Andy Fathollahi, Founder and Chief Executive, INCIPIO. “Both brands are alike in that we have experienced continuous growth and success as a result of our drive to deliver revolutionary wireless products and services.”
While Incipio is well-known for its line of iPhone and iPad cases, the company has also introduced other accessories like car chargers and screen protectors. Braven will remain headquartered in Provo, Utah, and the brand will remain a separate product line. Braven has done a nice job standing out in the crowded Bluetooth speaker market. I was very impressed with the company’s 625S when I reviewed it last year. And in February, the company introduced the BRV1 – a water resistant and shockproof speaker that also features a built-in powerbank.
