Alien Blue Updated With New Features And Improvements For iPhone And iPad

Alien Blue, one of the best Reddit clients (if not the best) on iOS, has just received major updates for its iPhone and iPad editions. Apart from their obviously "flattened" app icons, Alien Blue (for iPhone and iPod touch) and Alien Blue for iPad have both been updated with iOS 7 design tweaks, iOS 7 compatibility fixes, and support for inbox notifications, which requires iOS 7. Alien Blue has also been updated with the following improvements for iPhone and iPod touch:

• Ability to view large GIFs in optimal mode
• Added visual indicator for Stickied posts
• YouTube videos now load with zero clutter and can play automatically (optional)
• Improved stability for albums with multiple GIFs
• Improved performance and memory handling for YouTube playback
• Canvas now supports top/new/controversial sorting
• Canvas now supports searching
• Canvas images will require a tap to protect from spoilers
• Ability to choose Instapaper Mobilizer, Readability, or Alien Blue's native layout for reformatting articles
• Added support for sharing via Tumblr
• Ability to order search results by number of comments
• Minor UI improvements to Inbox screen (major revisions coming shortly)
• Faster launch times
• /u/ links are now displayed natively inside Alien Blue
• Added highlight and confirmation around comment deletion
• Subreddit sidebar now presents links to threads and other subreddits natively
• Added ability to copy a permalink for a comment to clipboard
• Decimalised karma count under Reddits screen to be more granular

As for Alien Blue for iPad, it has been updated with the following improvements:

• New Gesture: Two finger swipe up/down on navigation bar to toggle iPad status bar
• Improved application launch time
• Revised subreddit thumbnail presentation
• Improved appearance of Comment Entry screens
• Improved large image handling
• Added visual indicator for Stickied posts
• Minor UI improvements to Inbox screen (major revisions coming shortly)
• Added highlight and confirmation around comment deletion
• Decimalised karma count under Reddits screen to be more granular

Furthermore, in the new version of Alien Blue for iPhone and iPod touch, Retina thumbnails and comment link previews are now available to all users. The app has also been enhanced with features that were added to its iPad counterpart last July. These include canvas support for GIFs and videos, TV-out and Apple TV support for canvas, slideshow with auto-play, and the following optimal browser additions: DeviantArt, SoundCloud, Memedad, Livememe, Flickr, Instagram, and some popular comic sites (XKCD, SMBC, C&H, Dilbert, etc.). Also including a considerable number of fixes, the new versions of Alien Blue and Alien Blue for iPad are available now in the App Store.
