Block Fortress Updated With Local Multiplayer Support And Other Enhancements

September 3, 2013
The popular sandbox, tower defense, and first-person shooter game Block Fortress has just received another notable update. Last July, Block Fortress was updated with support for global co-op multiplayer via Game Center. Now, the game has been updated with significant enhancements for its multiplayer mode. First and foremost, the latest update to Block Fortress adds support for local co-op multiplayer via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. As a result, you can now play with other players in the same room as you are, instead of other Game Center-connected players. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. The update also delivers improvements for global matchmaking that make for better connections among random players. Moreover, it fixes a bug that sometimes prevents multiplayer games from starting after players have selected a map or a bot. Also including minor bug fixes and stability improvements, the new version of Block Fortress is available now in the App Store as a free update or as a new $1.99 download. The game is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 4.3 or later. Block Fortress is developed by Foursaken Media, the same studio behind the castle defense and over-the-shoulder action game Heroes and Castles and the sky-high racing game Sky Gnomes.
