Best Buy Preparing $100 Trade-In Promotion For iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c

It looks like Best Buy is preparing to offer customers another opportunity to grab an iPhone 5c handset with no downpayment. The deal comes as part of a new promotion set to launch next week, which will see U.S. customers receive a minimum of $100 towards a new iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c purchase when an old smartphone is traded in. Techno Buffalo shares the above internal document, which highlights the impending launch of the deal. The trade-in promotion calls for "any working smartphone," and requires that iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c customers sign-up for a two-year contract. Best Buy's offer appears to be valid from Oct. 13 to Oct. 19, 2013. The website explains:
As with all deals there are disclaimers that not all stores will be participating, so you may want to call ahead before you head down to your local Best Buy on Oct. 13.  Your trade-in value may also be impacted by if you have the original packaging and accessories, so make sure to gather everything up to maximize your gift card.
Of course, this means that while customers could get $100 off the purchase of an iPhone 5s, Best Buy is also allowing subscribers to pick up an iPhone 5c with no downpayment. If your smartphone is worth more than the $99 downpayment required for the 16GB iPhone 5c, the retailer will offer a gift card making up the difference, too. Though a similar deal launched in September, back then compatible trade-ins were limited to Apple's iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s handsets. This time round, "any working smartphone" can be brought to the retailer. As mentioned, the offer is expected to launch on Oct. 13. We'll keep you updated with further information as we receive it.
