Track Your Runs And Rides With The New Strava Running And Cycling App
March 14, 2014
Strava Cycling has just been updated to version 4.0. As a result, the popular athletic activity-tracking app has been expanded with more features and a new official name: Strava Running and Cycling.
You see, the name change is but appropriate, since with its latest update, the app now also tracks your runs in addition to your rides.
The new version of the app also features significant social enhancements, foremost of which is the all-new Activity Feed. The Strava team notes:
Introducing our brand new Activity Feed: You will now be able to see more about your friends’ activities, including their Instagram photos and route map. We’ve also made it easier to give kudos and comments right from the Activity Feed.If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. The newly updated app also adds support for Instagram sharing, lets you keep tabs on your different shoes and bikes, and informs you about segments in real time. Moreover, it includes language support for Dutch, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and traditional Chinese, in addition to English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later, Strava Running and Cycling is available in the App Store for free. With this update, the Strava Run app has practically been made redundant. Its discontinuation and removal from the App Store then are, in all likelihood, just around the corner.
