Angry Birds Rio Update Offers Another New Episode Based On ‘Rio 2’

April 10, 2014
With “Rio 2” scheduled to fly into theaters tomorrow, Angry Birds Rio has just been updated to add a new episode. In version 2.1.0, gamers can take advantage of the new Blossom River episode based directly on the movie. The episode offers 20 new levels and six hidden bonus levels set along the river. Along with the new content, players will have to battle drifting boats as those pesky monkeys float down the river. Unlike other Angry Birds games, there are two different versions of the app that can be downloaded now on the App Store. Angry Birds Rio HD is designed for the iPad/iPad mini while Angry Birds Rio is for the iPhone/iPod touch. Both versions are free, but there are a number of in-app purchase opportunities to snag extra powerups. The app was updated to version 2.0 back in February. That brought the first new content based on the sequel. And if you can’t get enough of the Angry Birds, you’re in luck. Angry Birds Stella will launch sometime later this year while the RPG Angry Birds Epic has already been soft launched in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
