If you prefer to use an iPad Air or iPad mini without a full case, an interesting Kickstarter project offers a quick and easy mounting system.
MagBak is touted as the world’s thinnest mount for the iPad.
Here’s a quick video about the project. Click here if you can’t see it.
While the system works easily with metallic surfaces, the MagStick provides the same functionality for non-metallic surfaces.
The MagBak attaches directly to the back of either iPad model. You won’t be able to use a full case, but the system is compatible with Apple’s own Smart Cover. Due to the magnetic properties, the Smart Cover snaps neatly in place on the back of the tablet.
If you want to get in on the Kickstarter project, you’ll need to hurry as the funding round ends later today. More than $38,000 has been pledged, smashing past the $15,000 goal.
With a pledge of $34 or more, you can snag the basic bundle, which is a MagBak and MagStick for either the iPad Air or iPad mini. Users can select from one of five color choices. A $49 pledge or more will net the pro bundle, which is one MagBak and three MagSticks.
All mounts are estimated to ship in May.
Even though I usually have a full case on my iPad, the MagBak does look like a very nice and inexpensive way to mount your tablet. I’m in as a backer.
