T-Mobile To Soon Let Users 'Test Drive' Its Network For A Week Using An iPhone 5s

June 19, 2014
T-Mobile has just announced its new "Test Drive" program that offers customers the chance to trial its network for a week using an iPhone 5s. Beginning Monday, June 23, you can sign up for T-Mobile Test Drive at T-Mobile.com/testdrive. A few days later, you'll receive a unit of Apple's flagship smartphone that you can use to take T-Mobile's network for a seven-day data-intensive spin for absolutely free. After the test drive, you just need to return the test unit at any T-Mobile store. Interestingly, the program is being likened by T-Mobile to an act of infidelity. “You (can) have a 7-night stand,” T-Mobile CEO John Legere said in an interview with Re/code just ahead of the company’s “Un-carrier 5.0″ event in Seattle. “You cheat on your carrier and it’s free.” Legere added that the program was conceived in hopes of correcting some customers' misperceptions about the quality of T-Mobile's network. According to T-Mobile, Apple is providing tens of thousands of iPhone 5s units for the Test Drive, which the company expects to attract at least one million test drivers in its first year.
