Yelp for iOS updated with iPhone 6 optimization and new Directions feature

October 28, 2014

The official iOS app of Yelp has just been updated with support for the new iPhones and a new navigation feature.

Yelp for iOS has indeed just been tweaked for the larger screens of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, over a month after the release of the devices. “For you early adopters with the new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, it’s time to get pumped,” Yelp notes. “The Yelp app is now optimized for your fancy new phones.”

In addition to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus optimization, the app now has a new Directions button. Available on every business page, the Directions button may be tapped to open Apple Maps and get directions and estimated walk or drive time to the business you want to go to.

Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later, Yelp is available on the App Store for free.

Yelp received a couple of major updates in August, thereby gaining a new feature for automatically translating reviews from different languages, iOS Calendar integration, and support for international Yelp Deals purchases.
