Yahoo for iOS updated with local news, commenting and more
The official Yahoo iOS app has just been updated with a trio of notable improvements.
First up, version 5.4 offers a long-requested feature – article comments. Along with being able to comment on a specific story, users can also vote on comments from other readers.
And along with local news from all around the United States, users can now take advantage of the revamped side-swipe navigation structure that makes reading news even easier. Yahoo, in a blog post, also discusses how the app can be personalized even further:
You can customize your experience in the Yahoo App. If you love sports, bring Sports to the top of your list and you’ll see it on the first page of your app. Want to see local news and then get the latest from Yahoo Travel? Great, just move them to second then third place in your list. Not interested in a category? Uncheck it and you won’t see its content in your pages anymore. The category will stay in your list, so if your interests change you can recheck it and read it in the future.
Yahoo is a universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
The app was updated in September with iOS 8 optimization and a Notification Center widget that allow users to preview personalized content. Version 5.0, which arrived in July, brought universal support for the iPad/iPad mini, integration with digital magazines, and more.
