If you use both iOS apps of Twitter and 1Password, you’ll be pleased to learn that the former now offers integration with the latter.

Through its latest update, the official iOS app of the popular social networking site has gained built-it support for the popular password management and online security app.

Consequently, you can now tap into 1Password to automatically sign in to Twitter — no need to manually enter your login credentials.

Easily log in to your existing account

When logging in to the Twitter app with an existing Twitter account, you no longer have to remember and type your email or username and your password.

Provided you’ve previously saved your login credentials in 1Password, you can just tap the 1Password icon in the Twitter app’s login screen, tap the 1Password extension button on the share sheet, unlock 1Password with your master password or Touch ID, and choose the Twitter login you want to use. And that’s it: You’re automatically logged in to the Twitter app.

Note that you may not at first see the 1Password extension button on the share sheet. To enable it, just tap the bottom More button and enable 1Password in the Activities list.

Securely sign up for a new account

Twitter’s 1Password integration also works for new sign-ups.

If you’re new to Twitter (in which case: Where have you been for the last decade?) and you want to sign up for the social network through its iOS app, you can also tap the 1Password icon when prompted to set your password for your new Twitter account. Then, tap the 1Password extension button on the share sheet, unlock 1Password with your master password or Touch ID, and proceed to create a new login item for Twitter.

When creating your new login, you can set a password of your own choosing. But it’s recommended that you have 1Password generate a random password for you instead for added security — you can even adjust 1Password’s different recipe parameters to customize the strength of your randomly generated password.

Once you’re done, tap Save and let Twitter finalize your account sign-up.

Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, the new, 1Password-integrated version of Twitter for iOS is available now on the App Store for free.

Also compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, 1Password is available on the App Store also for free, but with a one-time in-app purchase worth $9.99 for unlocking the app’s Pro features.

It’s nice to see 1Password, our favorite password manager here on AppAdvice, finally integrated into Twitter for iOS. It’s sure to come in handy particularly to users who have multiple Twitter accounts or people who are just about to start using Twitter.
