I called it!

In December, Glu Games released Katy Perry Pop, a mobile simulation game featuring the likeness and lifestyle of the eponymous singer (and Apple Music crusader). Then, writing about the game’s launch, I reflected, “Maybe Taylor Swift, who famously has bad blood with Katy Perry, is already cooking up her own celebrity simulation game.”

Now, it turns out that Swift has in fact been in talks with Glu to create her very own mobile game.

One of Swift’s ‘Wildest Dreams’?

The popular free-to-play game developer has just announced that it has partnered with the award-winning pop superstar on a new mobile game for smartphones and tablets, including, of course, iOS devices.

The game is not expected to be released until December 2016. It’s understandable then that details about the game are scarce at the moment. Glu, however, promises to provide more information about the game’s development and Swift’s involvement sometime ahead of the game’s launch.

It’s safe to assume, though, that Swift’s mobile game will offer a celebrity simulation gaming experience quite similar to that offered in Katy Perry Pop and previously established by Glu in Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, which features the eponymous model and socialite. That is to say, it will probably also have players creating their own aspiring celebrities and helping them rise to fame and fortune.

Leave a ‘Blank Space’ on your iOS device

Of course, as with Kardashian and Perry, Glu hopes to tap into Swift’s super-sized social media following to make the upcoming game popular and lucrative. As of the time of writing, Swift has 74 million followers on Facebook, 70.5 million on Twitter, 65.1 million on Instagram, and 18.1 million on YouTube.

The upcoming game marks Swift’s first foray into mobile gaming. It won’t be the first official iOS title from Swift, though: Swift already has the Taylor Swift app (which features news, music, photos, videos, and more) and American Express Unstaged: Taylor Swift Experience (which serves as a second-screen companion to the music video of Swift’s “Black Space”).

Glu also plans to officially release other mobile games featuring other celebrities, including Swift’s fellow superstar singers, Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj, and Kardashian’s sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
