Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, the simulation game featuring the likeness and lifestyle of the eponymous model and socialite, has been such a huge hit for Glu Games that it’s only natural for the developer to come up with another potential headline-grabbing celebrity game. And now, that follow-up game is out, and it features another famous personality whose name starts with K.
Nope, the game doesn’t feature any of Kim Kardashian’s sisters (Kourtney, Khloé, Kendall, Kylie). Rather, it’s the official simulation game of the pop superstar Katy Perry. Hence its name, Katy Perry Pop.
Baby, you’re a firework
Do you ever feel like a plastic bag, drifting through the wind, wanting to start again? Well, you might want to play Katy Perry Pop.
Like Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, Katy Perry Pop basically has you creating your own aspiring celebrity and rising to fame and fortune. But whereas Kim’s game lets you get by with just your looks and your celebrity connections, Katy’s puts a premium on talent. “Get discovered by Katy Perry and chart your course to music stardom by recording songs, making music videos, and performing for thousands of fans around the world,” as the game’s description notes.

The game also lets you go crazy with styles and outfits inspired by the queen of quirk herself. What’s more, it lets you see the world with Katy Vision, in which the presence of such peculiarities as dancing sharks and twerking tempura is the norm.
Get roarin’ now
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later, Katy Perry Pop is available now on the App Store as a free-to-play game.

If you’re one of Katy Perry’s loyal KatyCats, then you cannot not get and play Katy Perry Pop. Or if you just enjoy playing something like Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, then Katy Perry Pop is the game to get lost in, at least until the next celebrity gaming fad comes around.
Who knows? Maybe Taylor Swift, who famously has bad blood with Katy Perry, is already cooking up her own celebrity simulation game. Because, you know, players gonna play, play, play …
