To-Do App Things Adds Home Screen Widgets, Apple Pencil Scribble

September 18, 2020

If you’re looking for a powerful to-do app, it’s hard to go wrong with Things. And the app has just gotten a great update to take advantage of all of Apple’s new software.

The biggest new feature is the ability to add home screen widgets in iOS 14 and iPadOS 14. There are three different sizes – small, medium, and large. You can customize it to show any list you choose.

Anyone with an iPad and the Apple Pencil can use iPadOS 14’s new Scribble feature. So you can handwrite notes in Things and it will automatically be converted into typed text. You can Scribble in any field where you’d normally type.

And on the Apple Watch, there are new complications to use on your watch face. The first allows you to add to-do items directly from the watch face. The Modular face complication shows the top three items from your Today list while the Siri face now shows upcoming reminders.

There are two separate Things apps. The iPhone and Apple Watch version is $9.99 while the iPadOS version is $19.99.

You can also download the macOS version for $49.99.
