TikTok and WeChat Remain on the App Store in the United States, For Now

President Trump gave preliminary approval for a deal that sees Oracle and Walmart to purchase part of TikTok parent company ByteDance. That caused the Commerce Department to provide a one-week delay on the proposed ban.

And the WeChat ban was postponed after a California judge issued a temporary restraining order.

Both bans were prompted by “national security concerns” from the Trump administration.
