Twitter Co-Founder Biz Stone Relaunches the Jelly Q-and-A App

Originally launched back in 2014 by Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, the Q-and-A service failed to gain any traction with users. But version 2.0 of the app is looking to change that.
There are some big changes compared to the original version. Users don’t need an account and can ask questions anonymously. And instead of relying in just human intelligence, the relaunched service also depends on AI. Stone talks more about the technology in a Medium post:
We confess, we’re using a bit of AI. Yes, we’ve developed a routing algorithm. Each query and every answer is freighted with metadata. But all this science is in service of getting you the right responses from the right folks. People who can help because they’ve been there, they have the experience, they have the opinion, and most importantly, they have the answers you need — and you can follow up with them too.

Along with being able to ask and answer questions, you can also see what other users are asking about and those answers as well.

Jelly is designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
While it’s not exactly going to replace Google, Jelly does provide an interesting take on helping users to find answers about almost any question. Bringing technology into the mix, along with human intelligence, does add a new layer of usefulness to the equation. But I suspect the app has a long road ahead to become a popular search choice for iOS users.
