Born in Balkh in 1207 AD, Mowlana is a Persian poet, jurist, theologian, and Sufi mystic. His poems have been widely translated into many of the world's languages. A series of six books of poetry, Masnavi Ma'navi is one of the best known and most influential works of Persian literature.
