App Store Description

Use LessonNote to document the flow of a lesson and its impact on students with both quantitative and qualitative data. Track who is talking to whom, when, and for how long; jot handwritten notes about what is being said and what students are doing; and take photos of student work.

Begin by creating a seating chart with icons for teachers, students, groups, and display areas (such as chalkboards). Record observations by tapping on an icon, or drag from one icon to another to record an interaction. Take photos or insert library images into your notes. Use a "seating chart note" to quickly make notes about multiple students.

When you review your notes, a seating chart thumbnail highlights whom a note is about; charts shows various statistics; and a timeline provides a birds-eye view of the lesson, showing how time was spent between whole-class instruction, independent work, and group work.

LessonNote helps users record factual, non-judgemental observations. Designed for intensive demands of Lesson Study, it is ideal for peer observation and coaching. For administrators, it improves on simple checklists by helping document how lessons affect students—which is, ultimately, what teaching is all about.

Work with colleagues and use LessonNote to improve teaching and learning!
