除了八宮方位之外，還會以二十四個方位去斷吉凶的，每個方位佔十五度水上稱為二十四山。它們是甲、卯、乙、辰、巽、巳；丙、午、丁；未、坤、申；庚、酉、辛；戌、乾、亥；壬、子、癸；丑、艮、寅。羅盤有天地人三盤，為立向、消砂、納水之用，每盤的用法，都有一定之理與一定之法，各有其妙。然而每盤之中，皆有六十花甲，而十二支中，每向水火木金土之五行全備。
