AbaGreenWay

The purpose of the app is to show you the AbaGreenWay green bike tour route.

The application provides an opportunity to complete certain sections of the tourist route using map tracking.

In addition, the application contains a presentation of tourist attractions, accommodation and hiking trails around the AbaGreenWay route.


Building partnership!


The project will be implemented with the participation of 3 Hungarian settlements: Hidasnémeti, Abaújvár, Telkibánya, as well as 2 in Slovakia: Perín-Chym and Kechnec. The Lead Partner is Hidasnémeti.

Aba-Greenway, the proposed product of the project, would be created at the meeting point of landscapes and natural formation, along rivers, currents and hills. It is a built road serving the purposes of recreation, to be used by pedestrians, hikers and bicycle riders, which connects settlements with places of historical/cultural memory, as well as some of the major natural assets of the area.

The objective of the project is to link the tourism-related assets of the region, and thereby making them more attractive, and to bring tourists to the region. To this end, the project participants wish to create a “greenway”, whereby the cultural and natural assets of these settlements can be presented jointly, mutually reinforcing each other, and allowing active programmes of several days to visitors, thus contributing to increasing the number of visitors to the region and the strengthening of the economic potential.

The proposed route of the greenway Hidasnémeti-Perín-Chym–Kechnec–Abaújvár–Telkibánya, total length: 26 km. Rest areas will be established along the greenway with benches, tables, fireplaces; in addition, 3-language information signs and direction signs will be installed, showing the local natural/cultural assets. All of this will be supported by the GPS-based mobile tour application, to be developed in the framework of the project, as well as the project website which can be opened directly, using the QR codes on the information signs.

The Aba-Greenway is more than just a road. It showcases the local natural and cultural values, attracts visitors, facilitates tourism and the use of local services, and due to its ecological perspective, it fundamentally promotes responsibility for each other, our environment and our future - on both sides of the border.
