Accelerations

This tool performs calculations based on acceleration, speed, distance and time.

The "Drag Race" feature calculates constant acceleration. For example, if you accelerate from zero to a quarter mile in 10 seconds, how fast would you be going? Or, if you are an astronaut and you accelerate from 0 to 17,500 mph at 1.5 g, how long will it take and how far would you have traveled?

The "Journey/Interstellar Voyage" feature calculates trip time, whether it is a trip across town, across the country, or to a distant star. For example, if you drive 1 mile accelerating to 30 mph, cruising at that speed, and then decelerating to a stop, how long would that take? Or if you ride your spaceship from Earth to a star 4.3 light years away, accelerating to half the speed of light, coasting at that speed, and then decelerating to zero speed at the end, how long would that take?
