App Store Description

The ADR Biometrics app is a special project designed to help passengers easily proceed through Rome Fiumicino Airport using SITA Smart Path biometric technology installed at the airport. Today, at its trial introduction, it is suitable for use only by passengers departing via Delta Airlines flights.

With SITA Smart Path, ‘your face is your boarding pass’, allowing you to proceed through automated gates that open automatically upon recognizing your face, rather than having to queue to scan boarding passes and present travel documents to agents. Passengers can use their own mobile device to enrol. At this point their identity is verified. Once verified, ADR Biometrics app creates their unique personal travel token which is then stored on their mobile device. Then, prior to each flight from a SITA Smart Path enabled airport, the passenger will provide their flight boarding pass and a single travel token will be created by the ADR Biometrics app.

Your data will not be disclosed to third parties and will be stored by ADR in an encrypted format in a special protected electronic archive until one hour after your flight departure, while the App will store the biometric template of your face in your device memory for as long as it is installed or until you decide to delete it. ADR will, however, keep the information relating to your passing through the airport security checkpoints for the purposes of security checks required by the regulations in force in this area.
You have the right to ask ADR, the data controller, to access, rectify, delete, limit or object to the processing of your data, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time, by contacting ADR's DPO (dpo@adr.it) for this purpose. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority pursuant to Article 77 GDPR.

Your data will be acquired through the camera and the NFC sensor of your iPhone in use and used to automatically verify your identity and your authorisation to access the gates. Your biometric data will be used subject to your consent, while the other data (passport and boarding pass) will be used to fulfil your request to participate in the testing and use of the new gate access method, to comply with related regulatory obligations and to verify the functioning of the system.
