App Store Description

A nautical log book for sailing and motor boat cruises

Aiolos manages your cruises and legs, logs automatic and manual waypoints and exports your log books in different formats.

Before buying the app you may download Aiolos Lite. The free Lite version is more or less identical in its usage but, for instance, does not log waypoints automatically.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mode of Operation:

Aiolos stores as many cruises and legs as you like. Tracking is always done on the currently active leg. Usually, the most recently created leg is active. You may manually switch to an earlier leg, however.

After tracking is started, positions are recorded at frequent intervals. The log shows all automatically logged waypoints. Additional waypoint may be added manually.

Aiolos tries to minimize battery consumption. That's why log entries are not recorded at fix intervals but only when significant changes occur (position, direction, speed).

Yacht and crew data is stored independently and can be reused for different cruises.

Export your log books anytime as PDF, HTML, GPX or plain text files. You can also store a backup of your application database. These backup files can be transferred to another device and restored to Aiolos there.
