App Store Description

Alabama began using numeric license plate prefixes in 1955. If you know the numbering system, you can identify the county that issued most plates.

Alabama PlateFinder was created to help you learn about and appreciate Alabama by reading the codes at the beginning of license plates you see while traveling in Alabama and elsewhere. The app shows where each county is located (zooming in and out in response to a double tap gesture). It also links to additional information about each county and its county seat(s). (Yes, St. Clair County really has TWO county seats!)
