The Alberta Motor Transport Association was formed in 1938 as the voice, the standard and the resource of the commercial transportation industry in Alberta. We take a leadership role in enhancing workplace safety and in fostering a healthy, vibrant industry.
We represent 350 Carrier Members, 275 Associate Suppliers and 14,500 Associate Carriers through the Workers’ Compensation Board industry codes for General Trucking (50714), Specialized Trucking (50701) and Garbage Collection Disposal (57901).
From dispatchers and drivers, up to CEOs and owner operators, the AMTA delivers affordable, innovative and supportive training and injury reduction training departments. We advocate for the commercial transportation industry at provincial and federal levels of government on regulations, taxation and more.
We have a number of training opportunities with both online, and in-class options.
The AMTA also offers Certificate of Recognition designations showing that you as an employer, have a health and safety management systems that has been evaluated by a certified auditor and meets provincial standards.
