The latest installment in Adult Swim’s popular series of surgery simulation games is here. And it’s anything but dead on arrival. Amateur Surgeon 4 offers even more madness and absurdity with new patients to perform ill-advised and ill-equipped surgery on, and with new partners in medical malpractice to boot.

The doctor is in. Tap and swipe to operate on a variety of patients — from people to animals to robots — using a variety of household tools — including a lighter, a stapler, and of course, a pizza cutter. The game boasts more than 100 levels of tool-to-patient action.

Partners in crime. Like its direct predecessor, Amateur Surgeon 4 lets you work with partners and take advantage of their special abilities in performing the more challenging surgeries. Unlock and recruit them all — there are more than 30 partners — and prepare for some tag team trauma.

Survival of the fastest. Amateur Surgeon 4 features a special suvival mode called Field Hospital. In it, limited-time special missions are offered for you and your partners to complete by performing some high-speed surgery.

What is it about?

Also known as Amateur Surgeon: Regenerations, the game sees the return of the late Dr. Ignacious Bleed through his clone. Now, he must relearn the decidedly crude art that he pioneered: “improvised surgery,” which entails the use of household tools in treating patients with all sorts of bizarre injuries and conditions.

There’s a reason Amateur Surgeon has resulted in sequel after sequel after sequel. Basically, it’s oh-so-wrong surgery simulation done oh-so-right, with a consistently satisfying mixture of challenging touch-based gameplay, gloriously gruesome graphics, and Adult Swim’s trademark outlandish humor. And with Amateur Surgeon 4, you can also enjoy remastered and retooled versions of classic levels from the first three Amateur Surgeon games (all of which are no longer available on the App Store).
