APS Ring Monitor

Helps users maximize their beam usage and get the most out of beamtime by displaying the up-to-date status of the accelerator.

Ring data is refreshed every 30 seconds from the APS servers as long as the app is active in the foreground. While the app is in the foreground the screen will stay on and unlocked unless turned off and locked manually by the user. This allows you to never miss another problem with the beam as push notifications can alert you as soon as the shutters are disabled and when they come back online.
The app conforms to Apples rules regarding how apps work in the background, as a result, while in the background or if the phone is locked the app fetches content from the APS servers sporadically, sending out notifications as necessary.

The second screen displays the ring current as a function of time, storing up to 12 hours for you to review later. Undelivered beam is displayed in orange while delivered beam is in blue allowing for quick, easy readability.
