App Store Description

Asignio is your personal biometric authentication. Create your own unique Asignio Sign—a personal, digital signature comprised of letters, numbers or symbols you create—to secure access to your most critical data.

Asignio is designed to be used by any company that desires to offer a personal mutli-factor authentication method to secure. The Asignio Authenticator app is not restricted to users of a single company. Users create and own their personal Asignio accounts—independent of other accounts. Companies who offer Asignio as an authentication method allow users to connect a company account to the user's Asignio account so as to use Asignio as multi-factor authentication. When users log wish to log into their company account, the company can configure that user's company account to require Asignio as an extra secure, password-less authentication method. Additionally, Asignio authentication can be required as a step up authentication for zero trust scenarios or high value transactions.

Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator can be considered analogous applications to Asignio, in that those applications are used as a second authentication factor. Similar to those applications, when a company requests multi-factor authentication after a user types in their user name (or user name and password if the company requires), the user receives a notification via the user's preselected method (i.e., a push notification, SMS message or email, based on how the user has set up their Asignio account), and is prompted to sign with their Asignio Sign. After the user signs on their mobile device using the Asignio Authenticator, the company receives confirmation (or denial) of authentication from Asignio's servers via backchannel API communications.

Asignio is designed to be used as a consumer-focused authenticator, by the general public. Users are in control of their personal biometric and how it can be used to authenticate to whatever company account supports Asignio. Asignio is currently working with partners to provide its authentication to users.

Users create an account by going to my.asignio.com and creating an account, or by downloading the app and starting their account creation there.

Asignio is a free app. End users do not pay for this service. The business model is that companies who offer Asignio as a secure multi-factor authentication method pay Asignio per transaction.
