Aspas means ‘nearby’ in the Hindi language. To us, it’s Proximity Based Social Discovery.

Aspas is a revolutionary (and albeit simple) application that uses location-based technology to help you make connections in the real world.

Using this tech, we show you, users, within 100 feet in all directions. Why 100 feet? That’s because you can easily identify and approach people within a 100 feet.

HOW ASPAS WORKS:

1. Open the app to discover fellow users that are ‘visibly’ around you.
2. Find someone with an exciting cue that you would like to engage with.
3. Visually spot this user by matching them with their picture.
4. Hit Connect on the app and approach them in real life.
5. Introduce yourself and chat about the cue!
6. Boom! You have formed a new connection. It’s that simple!

WHY ASPAS?

- Aspas enables in-real-life face-to-face connections as opposed to connecting via chat/call/video. It's where technology meets the real world.
- Aspas is use case agnostic. We are not a ‘dating’ platform. Aspas exists to enable connections with your fellow humans that are around you.
- Engage with fellow users for any reason you can think of. Don’t let us pigeonhole you into connecting for a highly specific reason (*cough* dating apps).
- Make connections that could turn out to be your friends, business partners, tennis opponents, mentors, collaborators, or even your romantic partner. The possibilities are truly endless!
- Aspas tackles the prevalent issues of ‘approach anxiety’, ‘fear of rejection’, and ‘lack of context’ when approaching someone new.
- We take user privacy very seriously. We are not in the business of harvesting your data. Your attention is not sold to advertisers.
- The idea with Aspas is to minimize screen time and live more in the real world by discovering and connecting in person with fellow users!

REPORT MODE

- Your safety is our priority.
- With ‘Report Mode’ you can go back 48 hours in time to identify the perpetrator by scrolling through users with whom you have crossed paths.
- For serious reports, not only do we permanently ban, but also share the details with law enforcement so that legal action may be sought.
- This deters bad actors in our community.

CONNECTIONS
- See all your connections on one screen.
- Chat with any of your connections.

CONNECTION REQUESTS
- Accept connection requests from users with whom you have interacted in person.
- Ignore requests from those with whom you have not interacted in person.
- This way, your connections are a genuine record of those you have actually met and interacted with.

PROFILE

- Set up your profile with a clear picture of yourself.
- The picture serves as a means for fellow users to identify you from the crowd.
- Cues serve as the context for someone to approach you with.
- Add interesting cues to your profile. Keep them brief and actionable.
- The more interesting and actionable your cues are, the more users would want to approach you to chat about them.

VERY IMPORTANT!

- On Aspas, you are putting yourself out there, literally.
- It takes courage to be on Aspas as your presence on the app explicitly signals to other fellow users that you are ‘open’ to being approached. If you're not cool with that, Aspas is currently not for you.
- Users on Aspas ‘want’ to be approached. So don't feel anxious to do so. :)
- The mere presence of a user on Aspas should indicate that they are open to interacting. They wouldn’t be on it if they weren't interested.

Think of Aspas as an ethereal layer that informs people around that you are interested in engaging, while also pointing out what they may interact with you about. All this, while showing you fellow users that have interesting cues that they would like to connect on.
