App Store Description

ASRT (Active Shooter Response Training) for Educators is a security training app utilizing the latest Augmented Reality (AR) technology to give users an immersive training experience presented on a virtual 3D holographic display. Each training topic is accompanied by a 3D training avatar that narrates each lesson.

Numerous topics covered include:
•Classroom Preparations
•Behavior Indicators
•Security Procedures
•Defensive Techniques
and much more!

Each training section has a "Check on Learning" quiz to assess the users knowledge.

A feature to scale the holographic display size is available in AR mode with quarter scale for desktop viewing and full life-size scale for open spaces.

A non-AR touch screen mode is also available to facilitate viewing anytime, anywhere. Touch rotation and pinch zoom allow the user to move around the 3D holographic display with ease.

This AR app is a companion app to the fully immersive and interactive Virtual Reality (VR) Active Shooter Response Training to be released this spring.

Using the app is simple. When the app first launches it will be in Touch Screen mode and at the Main Title Screen. Tapping the left or right control tabs while at the Main Title Screen will show help dialogue boxes describing the controls function. Tapping the download link on the Main Title Screen opens Safari to the support page where you can download the image target for AR Mode.

As noted above, use standard touch rotation and pinch to zoom to move about the scene and tap to select menu items and to answer questions in the quiz.

There are two pop out tabs on the lower right and left. The left tab turns the AR Mode on and off and the right tab has a Back button and a Pause button. These will allow you to return to the main menu or to pause the current training lesson. There is also a Scale button to increase or decrease the size of the 3D Holographic Display when in AR mode.

When in AR mode the camera turns on and you will need to point the camera at the image target available on our website. Once the camera identifies the image the 3D Holographic Display appears. You can change the size of the display to suite your viewing needs and you can move around to view as you like. Tap the screen to select menu items our to answer the questions.

For newer devices that support Apples AR Kit once the image target is locked the AR will switch to room tracking allowing you to view the 3D Holographic displays without directly looking at the image. This is great for full size.

Learn these valuable skills and let’s keep Educators and Students safe!
