Athens County Handle with Care is an app created for use between educational institutions and first responders in Athens County in Ohio. This app will allow first responders to notify school districts when a child is present and has possibly experienced trauma to allow the school district to appropriately respond and support the student. The only information that will be shared with the school district is the students name. First responders will download this app on their device. When they encounter a student who they feel has experienced trauma, they will open the app, select he school district where the student attends, type in the students name, and then click submit. From here, the school district will receive notification and will be able to view the student name that was submitted.
