Autism iHelp is a vocabulary teaching aid developed by parents of a child with Autism and a speech-language pathologist. Autism iHelp was inspired by the need for specific language intervention tools for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder focusing on their unique strengths and difficulty with expressive vocabulary.
This app provides learning and repitition of basic skills that are necessary for successful communication and conversational attempts. Differentiating between yes and no and learning the concept of negation are building blocks of basic sorting, categorization, and answering basic questions. This app, like other Autism iHelp apps, uses real-world photos to focus on a specific area that often needs targeted practice in the Autism population.
Ability to track several students gains at a time, through progress reports that average the last 3 performances of each activity.
