App Store Description

Autismania is a digital support platform for individuals with autism in the Middle East, available in both English and Arabic.
The purpose of the app is to promote inclusion and accessibility, by creating a safe space for individuals with autism to build social connections and meaningful companionships.

Autismania enables structured yet informal interactions through its Buddy System.
Users can sign up as either Seekers (individuals with autism requesting a companion) or Volunteers (community members offering to accompany and support seekers during social activities).

For Seekers (Individuals with Autism):
Seekers can create a user profile including basic personal information, preferences, and any additional notes relevant to outings (e.g., sensory sensitivities, communication preferences).
Through the app’s Request a Buddy feature, seekers can submit specific outing requests by selecting the type of activity, desired date and time, preferred location, preferred volunteer role (Tutor, Buddy Outing, Buddy at School or Buddy at Home) and any additional accommodations or considerations.
Before a match is confirmed, seekers can browse available volunteer profiles, view ratings from past seekers, and initiate in-app chat conversations to assess compatibility.
Once a volunteer accepts a request, both users can coordinate the details through the in-app chat feature.
After the outing, seekers are prompted to rate their experience and optionally provide written feedback, which contributes to the volunteer’s public rating.
Seekers can view and track all their previous requests, accepted outings, and chat history in the History section of the app.

For Volunteers (Buddies):
Volunteers create a user profile containing their basic information, availability, interests, entity they’re affiliated with, and other relevant details to help seekers make informed decisions.
Upon signing up, volunteers gain access to a Tips & Disclaimers section, offering practical advice and considerations for interacting with individuals on the autism spectrum (e.g., communication, boundaries, and behavioral support).
Volunteers can view incoming buddy requests submitted by seekers and accept requests based on their availability and comfort level.
Once a request is accepted, the volunteer can communicate directly with the seeker via the in-app chat to finalize outing details.
Volunteers are also subject to feedback and ratings from seekers, which are displayed on their profiles to support transparency and informed matching.

Both user roles are subject to the app’s terms of use, community guidelines, and privacy policy. Autismania does not offer formal training to volunteers, and all outings are informal, non-therapeutic social experiences intended to encourage inclusion and companionship in a community setting.
