Trauma Matters is an application designed to provide support and help to people undergoing a traumatic life event.

The app is comprehensive information on how and why PTSD or related difficulties develop, the neuroscience behind trauma and most importantly lots of advice on dealing with trauma using the App's built in exercises or how to find help from counselling bodies, your GP, other counselling services or if you are based in Sussex, low cost counselling services run by the As You Are charity.

Trauma Matters is designed to reassure you that trauma is a typical response to many life events, and there are many ways to help yourself or be helped by others.

Inside the app is information on your immediate or subsequent reactions to trauma, what triggers PTSD, how common it is, how to take care of yourself or others undergoing trauma, how to ask for support and how to share your experiences with others, for example by volunteering. Information on where to get professional help within the UK is given and the app contains a short quiz on PTSD to analyse whether you may be undergoing trauma.

Monitor your assessment results over time using the Progress graph and take the (optional) suggested route through the content.

No information about you or any results from the PTSD quiz is sent from the app. If you feel that you need help, you can email or phone As You Are counseling services directly.
