What is it about?

When children are born their eyes are completely developed, but the part of the brain that processes sight information is not. This is the reason why newborns cannot see more than a few centimetres away from them and only clearly see the person holding them. For the rest, newborns are able to see light, forms and motion but in a very blurry way. During their first weeks, young children are attracted by their parents’ face and black and white images, these two being the only colours they can clearly identify.

App Store Description

When children are born their eyes are completely developed, but the part of the brain that processes sight information is not. This is the reason why newborns cannot see more than a few centimetres away from them and only clearly see the person holding them. For the rest, newborns are able to see light, forms and motion but in a very blurry way. During their first weeks, young children are attracted by their parents’ face and black and white images, these two being the only colours they can clearly identify.

Baby On is an app conceived for newborns that aims at stimulating their sight and their ability to identity different forms.

The Baby On W&B mode (White and Black) shows black and white images of animals and objects, images without colours nor shades.

The "Color" mode, on the other side, shows the toddler black and white images of animals and objects to which one to two high contrast colours are added. In this way newborns learn to recognise coloured forms.
Parents will be able to choose not only the "White and Black" and "Color" options but also the refresh speed and to choose many of the available sounds in the playlist as the soundtrack while images flow.
