Backpocket

Backpocket allows you to quickly and easily handle money between friends and groups. You can split bills or set up a tab easily and safely, with absolutely no fees, ever.

Backpocket is designed for:

CHAT
Just like a messaging app, you can DM with friends, make group chats and send GIFs. With the added feature to split a bill, add an IOU or send each other money directly from the chat. You can even nudge your forgetful mates.

SPLIT A BILL
Splitting a bill is super quick and easy. Split a bill evenly or divvy it up as you please. Everyone’s share is added to your Tab which automatically calculates a single balance owing between you and your friends.

TRACK IOUs
Does your mate owe you for something? Add an IOU for it. Or if you owe money, swap it around and it will get added to your Tab with them. Easy as!

RUNNING TAB
This is where you can find all of the bills split and IOUs added between you and a friend. Backpocket automatically calculates a single balance over time to keep track of IOUs and split bills. Goodbye spreadsheets and sending small amounts here and there!

SETTLE UP
When you’re ready, you can settle up all outstanding bills with your mates. If they owe you, you can even send them a nudge.

SEND MONEY
If you just need to shoot some money to someone, you can do that too. Any money you send directly won’t affect your tab, so you can still keep track of other outstanding expenses in your running tab, if you need to.

INVITING FRIENDS
Get your mates onboard by syncing your phone contacts and shooting them an invite.

ACCOUNT SETUP
You can send money to others using a debit card or a bank account, and receive money back into your nominated bank accounts. To send money with Backpocket, you will need to verify your identity using your Australian driver’s license, medicare card or passport. Just add your details once, and you’ll be all set to go.
