Bad@Reality is an augmented reality experience where you can use your phone to visually explore interviews with your favorite Chicago artists lurking in the drawings all around you.
Bad@Reality is an augmented reality application were viewers explore the 800 hour audio catalog of Bad at Sports interviews via drawings displayed in museums, galleries, magazines, and on beer cans. Image-tracked drawings trigger spacialized audio interviews and animations with notable contemporary artists. The audio and drawings intertwine and overlap creating unexpected connections and meanings initiated by the attention of the viewer.
The initial version of Bad@Reality is being produced in conjunction with the Hyde Park Art Center and will debut at the Artists' Run Chicago 2.0 exhibition, in Lumpen Magazine, and on a beer from Marz Community Brewing Co.
This release includes interviews with Jim Duignan, Brendan Fernandes, Michelle Grabner , Kerry James Marshall, Temporary Services, Edra Soto, Jessica Stockholder and Amanda Williams.
Bad at Sports (badatsports.com) has been podcasting on contemporary art since 2005 with over 720 episodes and artist interviews.
