App Store Description
BADS Impairment AR is a free app created by the Bund gegen Alkohol und Drogen im Straßenverkehr (B.A.D.S.). It was created in order to give teachers and other supervisors the ability to inexpensively educate their students about the dangers of alcohol use, especially on the road.
In the app, the simulated alcohol content in the blood can be adjusted between 0 and 1.3 per thousand. The optical effects of blurring, double vision and tunnel vision are integrated to different degrees depending on the selected blood alcohol value.
The app can only be used with an augmented reality headset. This means that the camera of the smartphone must remain free in the headset in order to capture the actual reality and add the effects of alcohol use. Augmented reality headsets working like this are available from many online retailers for 10-20 € incl. VAT (Google Cardboard principle).
