What is it about?

Using building plans and nomenclatures of any materials located in the buildings to be deconstructed or renovated, BATIRIM enables real estate diagnosticians and project owners to locate the elements and characterize their potential for reuse thanks to a digital twin from reverse BIM. Users access to a list of equipments and position them on the plans using pictogram system. The result is a database of elements eligible for reuse, as well as construction site waste, which can be used to define a circular economy strategy with a view to reducing waste volumes and the environmental footprint of the project. This software aims to make the regulatory materials diagnosis simple and efficient, but also to suggest circular economy directions, optimize sorting on deconstruction sites, monitor the proper implementation of circular economy requirements and monitor waste volumes.

For input, pdf and dwg drawings of the structures are needed. Users scales them at the start of the mission, allowing automated measurements. The user is then presented with a detailed bill of materials (BOM) of the elements that might constitute the built structure, whether they are unitary, surface, and linear components. With the touch function of his device, he positions the pictograms on the plans according to his observations on site. This information is supplemented by photos, observations, comments, and characteristic values, providing all the information necessary to assess the reuse potential of the materials, or even the hazardous nature of a waste item.

At last, users can filter and manipulate the data collected on plans from a PC Web type access. They have access to a BI-type component that enables them to refine their analyses and share them with all users connected to the same project, using a multi-criteria filter system. At the end, an export function restores the quantitative and qualitative information collected on the materials (located on the plans during the diagnostic phase). These data are then offered in a file that can be freely used by users. It is also possible to export the data and display it in the form of a product or resource sheet, with photos taken during the diagnosis. PDF exports can also be produced, showing the structure and its components in the form of a resource location map. Using this information, all project stakeholders can plan all operations relating to reuse and recovery.

The BATIRIM application also features electronic document management, based on forms developed for site requirements and for monitoring the execution of selective deconstruction or renovation operations.
