This app is part of the work named „beauty(never)fades“ by Vivien Bardosi.

Ideals of beauty are transient, but beauty never fades.
From ancient times, onward the beauty of women has been a central topic. The broad spectrum of perceptions ranges from an inconspicuous, shameful appearance to overwhelming, voluptuous femininity.

The app visualizes this diversity with the help of a timeline. Augmented reality is used to render a female head, that matches the ideal of beauty of the selected time, onto the marker (Download: www.vivienbardosi.com). Using an iPad or iPhone the viewer can experience an exciting journey through time by encountering different virtual characters. All the 3D-heads can be closely looked at by moving around the three-dimensional space of the object. An overlay with additional information can be displayed at the touch of a button.

The work will be exhibited at the Ars Electronica Festival in the POSTCITY (Campus Exhibition) from 7th September to 11th September in Linz.
