BeeTypes is a leadership simulator to train the use of psychological types. The simulator is a powerful method to let you acknowledge your own psychological type and how your preferences guide your behavior. Also, it builds your awareness of how different psychological types react to your behavior.

BeeTypes is set in a beehive. The objective of the hive is to accumulate as much honey as possible during a honey season. Honey is stored at the top of the hive. Bees feed on bee bread during a honey season. Bee bread matures from pollen placed in clean cells and distributed to the working bees in the hive.
You lead twelve bees that work in the central bread department. They can each be delegated tasks to clean cells, pour pollen into clean cells or distribute matured bread. You can check-in with your bees to see how much capacity they have left for solving any of the three tasks, re-delegate tasks, move them to work in another position or give them a reprimand to make them work faster.
Your performance is measured by four KPIs. Productivity is the quantity of beebread your bees have distributed. Quality is how well the cells are utilized for bread production. Integration is how well the utilized cells follow the overall value creation in the beehive. You can gauge the overall value creation by zooming out to view the entire beehive. Motivation is the averaged motivation of all twelve bees. Each KPI is calculated as an indexed score on a scale from zero to a hundred and shown in four color coded dials at the bottom of your screen.
The twelve bees are distributed between four psychological types that are motivated by different KPIs and leadership styles:
(Intuitive & Thinking) NT bees like frequent task changes and are stimulated by high Integration and high Productivity scores
(Intuitive & Feeling) NF bees like frequent task changes, frequent check-ins and are stimulated by high Integration and high Motivation scores
(Sensing & Thinking) ST bees like to be moved to new positions and are stimulated by high Quality and high Productivity scores
(Sensing & Feeling) SF bees like to be moved to new positions, frequent check-ins and are stimulated by high Quality and high Motivation scores
A full simulation lasting 50 minutes represents a honey season and develops over ten cycles each lasting five minutes. You start a cycle by delegating tasks and move the bees around before setting the bees in motion by pressing “GO”. You can interact with the bees any time while they work. The simulation pauses each minute for you to re-consider tactics and make changes before re-starting. A bee’s motivation can be interpreted by the color of its face, body language and energy level. KPIs are continuously updated and displayed in the dials at the bottom of the screen.
Your KPI score is displayed at the end of each cycle. You can gauge each bee’s motivation and remaining capacity for executing any of the three tasks. Bees will automatically receive a star and be promoted when they have used up their capacity for executing all three tasks. Any bee can be dismissed at your discretion. Promoted and dismissed bees are replaced before the beginning of a new cycle.
Your KPI performance for each game cycle as well as an Overall Score is displayed in the Scoreboard. The Overall Score is calculated as 50 per cent Productivity, 20 per cent Quality, 20 per cent Integration and 10 per cent Motivation.
