Better Shuffle

Better Shuffle was born out of a desire to have a music player that shuffles songs on a playlist but which avoids the same artist or album being played in close proximity to each other. Better Shuffle ensures that the shuffle mechanism cycles through each artist and album once before it can be picked again by the random generator.

In addition, users can build playlists by selecting one or more artists, albums or genres. These settings can be applied such that they come into effect immediately, after the currently playing song or only once the current queue finished. This allows to prepare for moving to a new playlists at the end of the existing one, enabling for uninterrupted playing for hours.

The playlist can be controlled both inside Better Shuffle as well as the actual Apple Music app allowing you to benefit from features such as song lyric display.
