That’s why Beyond Pain pooled the knowledge of renowned physicians and health psychologists to develop a science-based program that combats chronic pain from every angle.
Because “nothing works” is nowhere near good enough.
No one should have to go it alone — battling chronic pain requires consistent, personalized, evidence-based programs backed by a team of experts able to deliver the support you need to achieve less pain day-after-day.
Evidence-Based
Beyond Pain is powered by the combined knowledge of a leading pain specialist physician and experts in mental health, physical therapy, stress reduction and wellness. Our evidence-based programs are built based on aggregated insights and optimized by real results, so we’re always improving.
Dr. Tracy Jackson, MD, PhD is board certified in anesthesiology, pain medicine, and addiction medicine. She helped draft the opioid prescribing guidelines for Tennessee and has lectured extensively on opioid issues both here and abroad.
Dr. Tobi Fischel, PhD is an integrative clinical health psychologist. On the national level, she has been the co-chair of the clinical committee of the consortium of academic health centers of integrative medicine and has been the psychologist representative for the task force developing core competencies for integrative pain medicine.
Beyond Pain contains practices that have been extensively researched individually and tested in combination in an in-person retreat setting by Relief Retreats. Retreat attendees experienced significant improvement in quality of life, pain behavior, depression, fatigue, sexual function, physical disability, pain interference, pain self-efficacy, pain catastrophizing and social satisfaction, using NIH PROMIS metrics. Over half the participants, who had taken opiods, eliminated opiods completely and the remaining participants lowered dosage or type of pain medication.
Personalized Program
The Beyond Pain program is personalized, because we know chronic pain can’t be cured overnight, and there’s definitely no one-size-fits-all solution. Beyond Pain isn’t just an app; it’s a dedicated support system that goes wherever you go, and helps you work through your challenges.
Take More Control of Your Pain
Having more control means seeing improvement and understanding your progress, as well as experiencing more relief as a result of your efforts. Track which practices are effective for you. There IS hope and healing for those with chronic pain.
Beyond Pain is for active adults with Chronic Pain, frustrated with their present condition, who feel that their pain is not being adequately controlled by oral medication or injections alone and are looking to improve quality of life and functional ability or to reduce drug dependency.
• Are you ready to ease your pain and reduce your amount of medication?
• Would you participate in a 3-month program to improve pain, sleep, anxiety, depression, function, quality of life, and social satisfaction?
• What if you could do it ALL without leaving home, from your mobile device?
With both educational and experiential modules, Beyond Pain contains information about pain combined with guided practices to build resilience from pain and reduce the stress that has been shown to dramatically impact the perception of pain. The full program provides 3 months of learning and practices to support you.
Content is based on the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health data to manage chronic pain with fewer pills and includes: anatomy and physiology of pain, breathing, mindfulness, activity modifications, gentle movement (yoga and qi gong specifically for pain), art therapy, sound therapy, nutrition, communication, coping skills, community engagement and MORE.
